About the Artist
Wendy Blickenstaff was born in upstate New York and grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho. She holds a bachelor's degree in studio art with an emphasis in drawing and painting from California State University Fullerton and a Bachelor's of fine art degree in printmaking from Boise State University. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University.
Wendy lived in California for twenty years as a student, practicing artist, visual merchandiser, instructor, and designer. 2005, she moved to Boise, Idaho, with her husband and two daughters. Wendy has continued her studio work, art education, and teaching. In recent years, Wendy has moved her practice from painting to printmaking and illustration. Wendy has expanded her scope of work to include mental health concerns, community-building projects, and social justice needs. She has done this through work with Homeless shelters, a mental health hospital, social justice platforms, non-profits, art practice image content, and the formation of Showing Up Better, a mental health education platform. Wendy resides in Boise with her husband, an Australian shepherd, a flock of outdoor birds, pond fish, and frogs.
